On Thursday, July 26, 2018, 38 girls (grades 8 and 9) had the opportunity to visit the Competence Center Molecular Medicine. Before they could experiment in the laboratory they received some information about the Homburg campus and the COMM in a short introductory lecture. Since it was one of the hottest days of this summer, the self-made ice with liquid nitrogen was of course very welcome before returning to Saarbrücken. The UniCamp takes place annually during the summer holidays under the motto “Fascination of Science and Technology” and is organised by the UdS Gender Equality Coordination Office. Since 2008, the COMM has also been involved in getting girls interested in studying and pursuing a career in the field of biomedicine. UniCamp 2018 zu Gast im COMM
Am Donnerstag, den 26. Juli 2018 hatten 38 Mädchen der Klassenstufen 8 und 9 Gelegenheit, das Kompetenzzentrum Molekulare Medizin auf dem Campus in Homburg kennenzulernen. Dabei konnten sie nach einem kurzen Einführungsvortrag natürlich auch selbst im Labor experimentieren und sich vor der Rückfahrt nach Saarbrücken mit selbstgemachtem Eis abkühlen (schließlich war es einer der heißesten Tage dieses Sommers!). Das UniCamp findet jährlich unter dem Motto „Faszination Naturwissenschaften und Technik“ in den Sommerferien statt und wird von der Koordinationsstelle Gender Equality der UdS organisiert. Seit 2008 beteiligt sich auch das COMM, um Mädchen für ein Studium und eine Karriere im Bereich der Biomedizin zu begeistern.
