If it does not function properly, severe degenerative and metabolic diseases can result. How MICOS works has now been described by a researcher team around Prof. Martin van der Laan (Medical Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Saarland University) and researchers at the Max Delbrück Center in Berlin-Buch in a joint publication in the internationally renowned journal Science Advances.
