The Institute of Virology at the UKS presents the results of the broad-based coronavirus antibody prevalence study SaarCoPS, which was conducted last year. With nearly 3,000 study participants, the study investigated how many individuals in the adult participant group were infected with SARS-CoV-2 and had formed antibodies against the virus. The representative study concluded that the infection rate was about 1 percent in Saarland by October 2020. Thus, at that time, statistically one or one in 100 adult Saarlanders had overcome an infection with SARS-CoV-2 or had an active infection in which the organism had already formed antibodies against the virus.

Im letzten Jahr wurde im Saarland die breit angelegte Coronavirus-Antikörper-Prävalenz-Studie SaarCoPS durchgeführt. Mit annähernd 3.000 Studienteilnehmerinnen und -teilnehmern wurde untersucht, wie viele Personen der erwachsenen Teilnehmergruppe mit SARS-CoV-2 infiziert waren und Antikörper gegen das Virus gebildet haben. Die repräsentative Studie kommt zum Ergebnis, dass die Infektionsrate bis Oktober 2020 im Saarland bei rund 1 Prozent lag. Somit hatte zu diesem Zeitpunkt statistisch eine bzw. einer von 100 erwachsenen Saarländerinnen und Saarländern eine Infektion mit SARS-CoV-2 überwunden bzw. eine aktive Infektion, bei der der Organismus bereits Antikörper gegen das Virus gebildet hat.
