On January 17, 2020, an information event on the construction plans of the research building “Preclinical Center for Molecular Signal Processing” (PZMS; client: “Ministerium für Inneres, Bauen und Sport” represented by LaVA) took place in Homburg. The building, which is planned in consideration of sustainable requirements (e.g. regarding facade construction, photovoltaic system), will be constructed on the site developed 10 years ago between the research building CIPMM (opened in 2015) and the new forensic medicine building (opened in 2019). It is the largest project of the “Landesbau Saarland” and will be of great importance for the overall development of the university campus. Construction work will start on March 1, 2020, and is expected to be completed in fall 2022. The building will have a floor space of 4,500 m² and will host 10 working groups with approx. 174 employees under one roof. The first working day in the new building is scheduled mid 2023, and its immediate vicinity of the CIPMM research building suggests strong synergy effects.

Am 17.01.2020 fand auf dem Campus Homburg eine Informationsveranstaltung zum größten Projekt im Landesbau Saarland, dem Neubau des Forschungsgebäudes „Präklinisches Zentrum für Molekulare Signalverarbeitung“ statt (PZMS; Bauherr: Ministerium für Inneres, Bauen und Sport vertreten durch LaVA). Das unter Berücksichtigung nachhaltiger Anforderungen (z.B. bezüglich des Fassadenbaus, Photovoltaikanlage) geplante Gebäude wird auf dem vor 10 Jahren erschlossenen Gelände zwischen dem 2015 eröffneten Forschungsgebäude CIPMM und dem 2019 eröffneten neuen Gebäude der Rechtsmedizin entstehen und eine große Bedeutung für die Gesamtentwicklung des Universitätscampus haben. Baubeginn ist der 1. März 2020, mit der baulichen Fertigstellung ist im Herbst 2022 zu rechnen. Das Gebäude wird eine Nutzfläche von 4.500 m² haben und 10 Arbeitsgruppen mit ca. 174 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern unter einem Dach vereinen. Der erste Arbeitstag im neuen Gebäude ist für Mitte 2023 geplant und die unmittelbare Nachbarschaft zum Forschungsgebäude CIPMM lässt starke Synergieeffekte erwarten.
