Patients with osteoarthritis of the knee often suffer from chronic pain and are severely restricted in their freedom of movement. Knee prostheses can help these people, but increasingly younger and active patients are affected by osteoarthritis. For them, joint-preserving therapies are advantageous, as Henning Madry, Professor of Experimental Orthopaedics and Arthrosis Research at Saarland University, will explain in his lecture on “When the knee no longer runs smoothly – modern approaches to arthrosis therapy”. The seminar will take place on Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m. as part of the Science Forum of the Saarland University Society in the auditorium of the university (Building A3 3, Campus Saarbrücken).

Patienten mit einer Arthroseerkrankung am Knie leiden häufig unter chronischen Schmerzen und sind in ihrer Bewegungsfreiheit stark eingeschränkt. Knieprothesen können diesen Menschen helfen, jedoch sind zunehmend jüngere und aktive Patienten von Arthrose betroffen. Für sie sind gelenkerhaltenden Therapien von Vorteil, wie Henning Madry, Professor für Experimentelle Orthopädie und Arthroseforschung der Universität des Saarlandes, in seinem Vortrag zum Thema “Wenn das Knie nicht mehr rund läuft – moderne Ansätze zur Arthrosetherapie“ erläutern wird. Dieser findet am Donnerstag, 28. März um 18 Uhr im Rahmen des Wissenschaftsforums der Universitätsgesellschaft des Saarlandes in der Aula der Universität (Geb. A3 3, Campus Saarbrücken) statt.
