The German Research Foundation (DFG) supports scientists at the Saarland University in publishing their research results in scientific journals in a way that is freely accessible to all. The Saarland University was successful with an application to this effect and will receive DFG funding around 200,000 euros (the university increases the funding by a further 50,000 euros). From April 2019 onwards, researchers at the Saarland University will be able to submit applications to cover their publication costs (up to 2,000 euros per article).

Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) unterstützt Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Universität des Saarlandes dabei, ihre Forschungsergebnisse in wissenschaftlichen Zeitschriften so zu veröffentlichen, dass sie für alle frei zugänglich sind. Die Universität des Saarlandes war mit einem entsprechenden Antrag erfolgreich und erhält eine DFG-Förderung von rund 200.000 Euro (die Universität erhöht die Förderung um weitere 50.000 Euro). Ab April 2019 können Forscher der Universität des Saarlandes Anträge zur Deckung ihrer Publikationskosten (bis zu 2.000 Euro pro Artikel) stellen.
