Jun.-Prof. Dr. Bruce Morgan (Cellular Biochemistry, University of Kaiserslautern) accepted a new appointment at the Saarland University. On the 19th September 2018, Bruce Morgan was awarded the certficate of appointment as ‘Professor of Biochemistry’ at the Saarland State Chancellery. He started his new position in Saarbrücken on October 1, 2018. The research of the Morgan group focuses on cellular redox biology, e.g. how changes in the cellular redox species control the physiology and behaviour of cells. Since 2016, Prof. Morgan is Principal Investigator within the DFG-funded Research Training Group IRTG 1830 and he will of course remain a member of this cooperation project between the University of Kaiserslautern, the Saarland University and the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada). Thus, we are pleased to welcome Prof. Morgan as new member of the COMM. We offer our sincere congratulations, wish him all the best for his future career and are looking forward to a fruitful collaboration.
Jun.-Prof. Dr. Bruce Morgan (Zelluläre Biochemie, Universität Kaiserslautern) hat einen Ruf an die Universität des Saarlandes angenommen und am 19. September 2018 die Ernennungsurkunde zum “Professor für Biochemie” in der Saarländischen Staatskanzlei erhalten. Prof. Morgan hat seine neue Tätigkeit am 1. Oktober 2018 in Saarbrücken aufgenommen. Die Forschung seiner Arbeitsgruppe konzentriert sich auf die zelluläre Redox-Biologie, z.B. wie Veränderungen der zellulären Redox-Spezies die Physiologie und das Verhalten von Zellen kontrollieren. Seit 2016 ist Prof. Morgan Teilprojektleiter im DFG-geförderten Graduiertenkolleg IRTG 1830 und er wird selbstverständlich Mitglied dieses Kooperationsprojektes zwischen der TU Kaiserslautern, der Universität des Saarlandes und der Universität Alberta (Edmonton, Kanada) bleiben. Daher freuen wir uns, Prof. Morgan als neues Mitglied im COMM begrüßen zu dürfen. Wir gratulieren ihm herzlich, wünschen alles Gute für seine weitere Karriere und freuen uns auf eine erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit.
