On June 24, 2019, the 20th “Science Prize of the City of Homburg” was awarded during the 55th University Week. One of the laureates is the COMM member Dr. Anouar Belkacemi (Pharmacology and Toxicology), who was awarded for his publication in the renowned journal Cell Reports entitled „IP3 Receptor-dependent cytoplasmic Ca2+ signals are tightly controlled by Cavß3“ (Cell Rep 22, 1339-1349). The work shows that deletion of Cavß3 subunit of voltage-gated Ca2+ channels renders cells more sensitive to inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate and accelerates skin wound healing in mice. Im Rahmen der 55. Hochschulwoche wurde am Montag, den 24. Juni 2019 der “Wissenschaftspreis der Stadt Homburg” verliehen. Einer der Preisträger ist das COMM-Mitglied Dr. Anouar Belkacemi (Pharmakologie und Toxikologie), der für seine Publikation in der renomierten Fachzeitschrift Cell Reports ausgezeichnet wurde (“IP3 Receptor-dependent cytoplasmic Ca2+ signals are tightly controlled by Cavß3″; Cell Rep 22, 1339-1349). Die Arbeit zeigt, dass die Deletion der Cavß3-Untereinheit der spannungsgesteuerten Ca2+-Kanäle die Zellen empfindlicher auf Inositol 1,4,5-Trisphosphat macht und die Hautwundheilung bei Mäusen beschleunigt.
